Week 2 #keepyourcoolchallenge - From Grounding to Balance

Hi there, I hope week 1 of the challenge went well for you and that you’re enjoying your EARTH, WATER, AIR and FIRE blends!

Remember, this month’s #keepyourcoolchallenge is a practice in aromatherapy combined with mindfulness, aimed to help you live your best life. Jon Kabat Zinn*, a pioneer in mindfulness training defines mindfulness this way:

I hope you’ll take a bit of quiet time each day to reflect on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally on how the challenge is going for you:

  • How is the daily routine of using the ELEMENTS essential oil blends going for you? Which blend is your favorite?
  • What has “grounding” meant for you this past week?
  • Did you notice any changes in how you were keeping your cool throughout your busy day?
  • When you forgot to use your blends or started losing your cool, did you judge yourself? Or were you gentle and compassionate?

Week 2:  Feel your way to harmony

We are focusing on our experience with WATER::BALANCE this week in the #keepyourcoolchallenge. Release, renew and restore your natural state of emotional well-being with the tranquil essence of WATER::BALANCE. This enticing blend of cedar, lavender, orange, lemon, frankincense, myrrh and more encourages emotional release, calms the heart, and harmonizes the emotions—like the natural ebb and flow of water.

This week, you’ll continue to use each of the four blends daily as outlined, but the focus will be on feelings, and what it means to be emotionally balanced. Pay particular attention to your evening pampering practice of using WATER::BALANCE in your diffuser (a few drops in a warm bath also works wonders!).

As you move through your week, here are some questions to reflect on:

  • Are you in touch with your feelings throughout the course of the day?
  • Are you emotionally closed off? Or a roller coaster of emotions?
  • Are you able to express your feelings?
  • When you are feeling frustrated or angry or sad, do you judge yourself?

Pay attention to your feelings this week with curiosity and compassion. Be gentle with yourself…. Your radiance and authentic power originate from your emotions!

To start the week, I want to share with you my favorite poem of all time, by Rumi, the Sufi poet. Reflect on these words as you enter into week 2 of the #keepyourcoolchallenge:
